Read-A-Thon Home
The Kruse Read-A-Thon spans most of the month of October.
We kick off the month with an assembly explaining to the kids what the Read A Thon means to Kruse the school and to them as students of Kruse. We perform interactive skits to show the kids how to ask neighbors, friends and relatives to donate to our special fundraiser. We also let them know about all the wonderful activities that will occur on the day of the fundraiser and all of the wonderful prizes that everyone is eligible for!!! (The money that is raised through this effort helps support the school, events, teacher requests, special programs and much more. All prizes are generously donated from local vendors.) Come to a PTO Meeting sometime to find out more of what we do!!!
About the second week of October we send home a collection envelope. Kids have approximately 2 weeks to fill their envelope. The envelope is due back to school the morning of the Read A Thon. The actual event of the Read A Thon is an all day tribute to Reading!!! Parents, local officials and even some local published authors come and read to all classrooms! It is a fun ..laid back day...Kindergarten usually gets to have a pajama day!!!
Please help us make this years Read A Thon a success!!!
